Mihkel Poll studies with professor Ivari Ilja at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. He has won several international and national competitions since the year 1997 when he was awarded the First Prize at the International Competition Young Musician. Other important awards are the First Prize and Orchestra Special Prize at the prestigious Rina Sala Gallo Piano Competition in Monza. In 2002 Mihkel Poll represented Estonia at the Eurovision Young Musicians Competition in Berlin. The most recent accomplishment of the young Estonian pianist is the First Prize and Tubin’s Special Prize at the Tallinn First International Piano Competition.
At the concert Mihkel Poll will perform Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No 2 in A major that was completed in 1840 and revised in 1861.
