In the programme of the concert there are Dvorák’s Symphony No 5, which ERSO has played only twice, and the symphonic poem The Noon Witch, which will be performed here for the first time. The soloist in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No 3 is Ralf Taal – a pianist who has also been active as a chamber musician. The orchestra will be conducted by young british conductor Rory Macdonald, who is equally at home both in working for major opera companies and on the concert podium.
