The Swedish violinist Cecilia Zilliacus is one of the most interesting present-day Scandinavian soloists who has appeared with major Swedish, Scandinavian and European orchestras. Her CDs have won recognition in her homeland, for example the Swedish Grammy (2000) and the title of the best performer of classical music of the year (2002). Cecilia Zilliacus will appear with ERSO for the second time. Her first performance was in 2004 with Eduard Tubin’s Second Violin Concerto conducted by Eri Klas during the festival Tubin and His Time. This time she will play one of the most significant pieces in violin repertoire – Beethoven’s only completed violin concerto.
