Hector Berlioz’ intention was that his Requiem (under the original title “Grande messe des morts”) should be performed by the unusually large number of 600 musicians. Unfortunately, none of the concert halls in Estonia have such a capacity; nevertheless, the stage of the Estonia Concert Hall will be enlarged to fit almost 100 singers and a large symphony orchestra including musicians placed in the hall. This way audiences will be caught up in the middle of the work being surrounded by musicians.
The concert is conducted by recent Grammy award winner, Tõnu Kaljuste.
Tickets: 25 € / 20 €
Concert is organized by Eesti Kontsert, ENSO
Concert also belongs to the series “Oratorio” presented by Eesti Kontsert.
