When Mahler was composing his Symphony No 3 for a large orchestra, he wrote that this symphony “reflects the whole world – you become an instrument in the hands of the universe. /…/ My symphony will become something that the world has never heard before: this composition will give a voice to the nature and retell the listener about such profound matters the essence of which they can only dream about.”
