The goal of the ninth King Arthur Gala is to acquire urgently needed diagnostic equipment for effective medical treatment of children with cleft lips and cleft palates. This is a wide spread, very serious but in every way medically treatable pathology, which requires numerous operations and hospital stays. Early examinations provided by such equipment markedly increase the positive results of such operations and help in improving the speech of the children. The examination equipment required comes at a cost of 700 000 kroons.

Similar to the principle of King Arthur’s Round Table, the acquisition of this equipment provides young citizens an equal opportunity with their age-group peers to strive to become even a singer or an actor. Precisely thanks to a palate operation in his childhood, Guido Kangur, a top actor today, received the ability to speak. Kangur wishes to assist his young fellow sufferers by being a patron of a non-profit organization – "Naerulinnud" – that unites parents of children with cleft lips and palates.

The King Arthur Foundation has charitable status so that donations can be made tax-free (Income Tax Act, Article 48). The bank account number in the SEB Eesti Ühispank is 10444477777774; BIC: EEUHEE2X; IBAN: EE901010444477777774
