Patricia Rozario (soprano, England)
Estonian National Symphony Orchestra
Conductor OLARI ELTS

Soprano Patricia Rozario was born in Bombay and studied at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. She is internationally acclaimed for both, her recitals and opera roles. Her extensive repertoire includes music from Baroque to contemporary music. In addition to winning several international singing contests she has also been awarded with OBE for her services in music. She collaborates closely with John Tavener who has been writing vocal music for soprano since 1991, always having her vocal capacities in mind. Estonian composer Arvo Pärt has dedicated his work Como anhela la cierva to Patricia Rozario, the premiere of the piece took place in March, 1999, and it was the soprano’s first appearance in Estonia.
“/-/ Patricia Rozario is simply astounding in her vocal agility and control.” (Ivan Moody, International Record Review 2001)
Olari Elts won the International Sibelius Conductors’ Competition in Helsinki in 2000. Since then he has been invited to conduct many world-famous orchestras. He conducted ERSO last in February, 2006. The concert was dedicated to the music of Arvo Pärt and it was part of the cultural programme at the Winter Olympic Games in Turin.
