Conductor DAMIAN IORIO (Italy)

Damian Iorio is a regular guest conductor in Europe, Scandinavia and Russia. Now based in Italy, Damian has had great success with many important Italian orchestras and opera houses in Rome, Turin, Palermo and Milan. Damian Iorio studied conducting in St Petersburg and he is a frequent guest conductor throughout Russia.
The current concert program consists of the Unfinished symphony by Schubert, The Hebrides Overture by Mendelssohn, a 4-movement piece Ascension (composed in 1933 by Olivier Messiaen (1908–1992), one of the most famous French composers and professors of composition of 20th century who has influenced a whole generation of composers), and a piece titled Slonimsky’s Earbox, which was written in 1995 by John Adams (1947), one of the most popular US living composers and composer in residence of Carnegie Hall.
