The Salzburg-born, Polish-Czech violinist Alexander Janiczek is a highly regarded soloist, principal violinist, chamber musician and conductor who has worked with many reknown musicians such as Sir Roger Norrington, Murray Perahia, Trevor Pinnock, Yuri Bashmet, Andrew Litton, Ton Koopman, James Macmillan, Sándor Végh, Joshua Bell, Boris Pergamenschikow, and with London Symphony, Philharmonia, Amsterdam Concertgebouw and other orchestras. Janiczek was principal violinist with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra from 1999 to 2002 and has remained closely associated with that orchestra now that Olari Elts is their principal guest conductor.
Alexander Janiczek and ERSO present one of violin repertoire’s most important and frequently played works: Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor from 1844.
