This is the second time for the Russian mezzo-soprano Marianna Tarasova to sing with ERSO. Last year she performed with huge success at the Opera Gala and was named “the charming pearl of St. Petersburg” by the critics. According to the Estonian daily newspaper Postimees the Estonian audience received her performance “with multiple bravos which proved that her singing was world-class and highly professional”. Marianna Tarasova’s home theatre is the Mariinsky Theatre, St. Petersburg but she is a frequent guest at the Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden and many others. This season she also sang the part of Amneris in “Aida” at the Estonian National Opera.

This season is the fourth season for Nikolai Alexeev to be the chief conductor of ERSO. He is also the associate principal conductor of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and conducts many Russian and European orchestras.
