Dana Zemtsov, one of the most brilliant viola talents of her generation, has won numerous competitions and made a dazzling career as a musician. She is winner of the Grand Prix at international competitions in Luxembourg, Italy, Austria, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands. In 2010, she was awarded the Young Musician of the Year title in the Netherlands and represented the country at the Eurovision Classical Music Competition in Vienna. The highlights of her most recent performance seasons have been Bartók’s Viola Concerto in Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, performing at the Utrecht Chamber Music Festival with Janine Jansen and Martin Frost and a solo recital in New York’s Carnegie Hall.

The concert will be conducted by Daniel Raiskin, who has given several successful performances with ENSO and has worked as the guest principal conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra since the 2017/18 season.

Jared Sacks, the head of the Dutch record company Channel Classic, will share the secrets of the world of recording during the pre-concert discussion.

The “Romanticism” concert series offers audiences several of the most beautiful pieces of music from the Romantic period. Soloists in front of the orchestra are Zee Zee, the Chinese pianist and winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, and Dana Zemtsov, one of the most dazzling viola talents of her generation. The opening concert of the season is conducted by Neeme Järvi, the principal conductor and artistic director of the orchestra, while the conductor at the concert “Carnival” is Daniel Raiskin, the guest principal conductor of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra. You can also enjoy romantic music performed by ENSO chamber ensembles.
