Conductor ALEXANDER VEDERNIKOV
Alexander Vedernikov’s name is mostly connected with the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre, where he enjoyed eight years as principal conductor. He is also the founder of the Moscow City Symphony “Russian Philharmonic”. Vedernikov is one of the most in-demand guest conductors, who appears regularly with many renowned orchestras such as the London Philharmonia Orchestra, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Radio France Philharmonic Orchestra and in many of the world’s greatest opera houses. He is currently principal conductor for the Odense Symphony Orchestra. Vedernikov has also appeared twice with ENSO – in 1990 and 1996.
“God, who wants to be praised, is no God,” wrote Russian composer Alexander Scriabin in his notes in the beginning of the twentieth century while composing his Symphony No. 3 entitled “The Divine Poem”. God for Scriabin is the man himself, his inherent creative germ. His Symphony No. 3 is a musical tale of the hero striving for a brighter future.
