ENSO completes its 87th season with two concerts under the baton of the orchestra’s principal conductor and artistic director Neeme Järvi. The flamboyant concert season will end with an Italian-themed tone poem by Richard Strauss, where the composer has interlaced the conclusion with the famous Neapolitan song “Funiculì, Funiculà”.
Violinist Vadim Gluzman upholds the great violin traditions of the 19th and 20th centuries with extraordinary artistry, complementing them with a modern sensibility. Gluzman performs with world-famous orchestras and conductors, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Israel Philharmonic, London Symphony, the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester, Münchner Philharmoniker, San Francisco Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra and the NHK Symphony Orchestra in Tokyo. Starting with the 2013/14 season he will take up a new position as creative partner and principal guest artist at the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra residing in Columbus, Ohio.
