FINAL CONCERT OF THE SEASON

The 89th season of ENSO will end in a feminine, romantic mood with such peerless masterpieces as the Violin Concerto by Johannes Brahms and Symphony No. 4, aka Romantic, by Anton Bruckner.

Acknowledged Swedish violinist Cecilia Zilliacus appears as a soloist in front of Scandinavian and European orchestras, is part of the renowned ZilliacusPerssonRaitinen string trio, teaches violin at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and is the artistic director of the Katrina Chamber Music Festival established in Åland in summer 2015.

The orchestra will be conducted by Kristiina Poska, who in autumn 2015 started her fourth season as the first Kapellmeister or the second most important conductor of the Komische Oper Berlin. Two years ago she performed with her home theatre at the Birgitta Festival in Tallinn. Kristiina Poska is a prize winner of different international conducting competitions, including the renowned Deutscher Dirigentenpreis in 2013. In the same year, she was also elected among the 25 most interesting citizens of Berlin by one of the most influential German newspapers, “Der Tagesspiegel”. Her debut as a conductor in front of ENSO took place in 2011 in Haapsalu, this time she has been entrusted to conduct the final concert of the season of Estonia’s premier orchestra in the Estonia Concert Hall.
