Artistic director and principal conductor of the Estonian National Opera Vello Pähn will take the conductor’s stand. For 25 years he has conducted performances at the Paris National Opera, participated in lengthy collaborations with Hamburg State Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Berlin State Opera and many others.

The best-known symphony by the Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, Symphony No. 7, will be performed along with “Four Last Songs” by Richard Strauss, composed for a text by Hermann Hesse and Joseph von Eichendorff. The music world celebrates the 150th anniversary of Richard Strauss, the most famous German composer and conductor of his time. “Four Last Songs” is the maestro’s swan song, full of sadness and yet looking to the future with hope.

BezsmertnaOlga Bezsmertna is member of the ensemble at Vienna State Opera, where she made a spectacular house debut 2012 as Dame in Hindemith’s Cardillac conducted by Franz Welser-Möst: “From this superb voice certainly exciting things will be heard also in the popular repertoire in the near future.” (Die Presse). In 2014/15 Olga Bezsmertna will make her debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at Vienna State Opera and can be heard in Strauss’ Vier Letzte Lieder, Figaro-Contessa, Zauberflöte-Pamina and in the revival of Hindemith’s Cardillac. Deutsche Oper Berlin invited her to make her house debut as Contessa in Nozze di Figaro. In summer 2015 Olga Bezsmertna will make her debut at Salzburger Festspiele.

In 2011 Olga Bezsmertna won the first prize at the competition “NEUE STIMME 2011”. The jury was chaired by Dominique Meyer, the director of the Vienna State Opera. In 2010 and in 2011 Olga Bezsmertna was among the finalists at the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in Vienna. At the 2008 European Opera Singing competition DEBUT she won the first prize and the people’s choice as well as the Puccini award. In 2006 she received an award at the International Rimsky-Korsakov Vocal Competition in St. Petersburg, followed by an engagement at Oper Oder-Spree Festivalin 2007.

Her repertoire includes Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Pamina (Zauberflöte), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Fiordiligi (Cosí fan tutte), Micaela (Carmen), Marguerite (Faust), Nedda (I Pagliacci), Marfa (Die Zarenbraut), Tatjana (Eugen Onegin), Jolanthe (Iolanta), Zemfira (Aleko), Margherita (Mefistofele).

Olga Bezsmertna graduated from the Kiev National Academy of Music in Ukraine in 2010.
