The second concert of the Maestro series and the publishing of the book Elu kui paljutõotav algus (‘Life as a promising start’) commemorate ENSO’s former principal conductor Peeter Lilje (1950–1993).

Close friends of Lilje step in front of the orchestra: Nikolai Alexeev, ENSO’s former principal conductor and schoolmate from the days of the Leningrad Conservatory, whose contacts with the ENSO already began in 1987 thanks to Peeter Lilje, and Kalle Randalu, long-time stage partner and kindred spirit, with whom Lilje used to perform in Estonia as well as in many other Soviet cities with ENSO and foreign orchestras.
