At the heart of the programme of romantic orchestral music is a concerto by Sibelius – the only one that the great composer created for a solo instrument. It initially received a lot of criticism, but is now one of the most performed solo concertos in the world. Ye-Eun Choi stands out from many great violinists for her extraordinary interpretation and almost instinctive sensibility. Her mentor Anne-Sophie Mutter has said that she ‘does not just perform a piece, but makes it her own’.

Conductor Mihhail Gerts has made an incredible international career in the last years. He has conducted the greatest orchestras in Japan (NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra), the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, the Orchestre National de Lille, and the Staatskapelle Weimar. His musical style is praised for extraordinary precision as well as strong emotions and warmth that captivate the audience from the first note of the concert to the very last.

Tickets: €25 / €20
The concert is produced by Eesti Kontsert in cooperation with ENSO
