In one month, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra will travel for the second time in its history on a long tour of the United States (READ MORE). Under the current principal conductor and artistic director Neeme Järvi, former principal conductor Nikolai Alexeev and principal conductor of Sarasota Symphony Orchestra Anu Tali, 15 concerts will be performed on the East and West Coast. Estonian audiences will have a chance to enjoy two ‘farewell’ concerts titled “Tallinn ->Atlanta” and “Tallinn ->New York”. The first title refers to the concert on 15 November at the Atlanta Schwartz Center and the second to the performance on 10 November at the New York Philharmonic’s main auditorium in the Lincoln Center (Avery Fisher Hall).
Narek Hakhnazaryan is winner of the International Tchaikovsky Competition 2011. Born in 1988 in Armenia, Nakhnazaryan studied at the Moscow Conservatory, refined his skills under Mstislav Rostropovich and graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. His extensive concert tours in America and Europe began after winning the first prize at the Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York in 2008.
