ERSO performance of latest Steve Reich music a success
American minimalist composer Steve Reich’s “Music for Ensemble and Orchestra” (2018) had its maiden performance in Estonia, played by the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO) Friday night. On 11 September, the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO) will begin its 94th season at Estonia Concert Hall. The audience will be able to watch the concert at Estonia Concert Hall as well as via a live broadcast on the new online platform erso.tv and Klassikaraadio. Olari Elts, the new chief conductor and artistic director of the orchestra, will start on his position from this season. The central concepts of the season are Ludwig van Beethoven, who was born 250 years ago in December, and the musical revolution that was sparked by his musical genius and creation.Read more

The Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir presented the idea for the Heliorg Concert Hall
The Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir present the project ‘Heliorg Concert Hall’ to the competition of nationally important cultural objects. The concert hall, the conceptual design of which includes a concert hall with good acoustics that does not exist in Tallinn to date, would become both an international and a national landmark. The concert hall would become the home of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, and the operating conditions would also improve for many other music groups.Read more

Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Neeme Järvi and Triin Ruubel-Lilleberg recorded Violin Concerto by Elgar and Two Sentimental Romances by Stenhammar
In early July, a recording with the works of two contemporaries who lived in different countries – England and Sweden – was released. Under the direction of Neeme Järvi, ENSO, and violin soloist Triin Ruubel-Lilleberg, who has been the concertmaster of ENSO since 2015, recorded the famous Violin Concerto by Edward Elgar and Two Sentimental Romances by Wilhelm Stenhammar for the American record company Sorel Classics.Read more
